Steve: Sigur Ros Southampton
Just found out they will be at the Guild Hall on Tuesday July 11th if you're interested, £22.50 on sale from today (1st) I think. Maybe Paul will want to go again (he'll've finished school). Let's talk. I knew I shouldn't've got on that Ticketmaster mailing list.

Steve: Tim, Paul is keen to take Kimberlee again so could you get tickets from the box office to save fees please? So 3 for me and 1 for Nick and then yourself. Paul is happy to sit separate from us if this means we get better seats.
I would plan to spend the day with you guys, maybe drop them off in town to mosey round. Matt will still be at school. I'd probably drive back that night.
How do you get to Kraftwerk without affecting global warming?

Tim: Early indications are that it's standing. For those with footache they sometimes have a ramp of (bookable) seats at the back. Standing OK?
Steve: 3 for me please standing or otherwise. Thanks alot.
Body love II in the walkman today; stonking.

Tim: Done.
I've got six standing tickets.
The only seats were in the balcony (forgot about the balcony) and they didn't have six together, so it would have meant getting some of one and some of another blah blah blah.
3 for Steve, 1 for Nick, 1 for me, and Neil will have first refusal on number 6 when he comes back from holiday, so I might be trying to give it away later.
£22.50 each, but don't worry about until whenever, put it on the tab.
I see that although we're going to a local(ish) gig we're still contributing to global warming - this is the relevant part of the tour schedule:
ireland july 09 • oxegen festival
england july 11 • guildhall, southampton
luxembourg july 12 • neumünster abbey
spain july 14 • summercase festival, barcelona

Tim: Forgot to mention, I liked the bit about "Paul is happy to sit separate from us if this means we get better seats"
Steve: Well done for getting them, quicker than *I* expected. It was my suggestion that Paul may not want to sit with us, and it might help for better seats.
Tim: Re:How do you get to Kraftwerk without affecting global warming?
There's a ferry from Newcastle to Bergen, only takes 25 hours.
Oslo, you'd either have to fly, or ferry via Denmark I reckon. As for the Sonnenmondsterne thing it's in a field in SE Germany, a bit tricky. It's at Saalburg, not far from Saalfield...of Radioactivity fame.

Steve: Don't worry, I get far more than 10-15 goes out of mine! BTW I just got some non-leather shoes from The Vegetarian Shoe Shop. Not cheap but made in England and they look pretty good. Just need to see how long they last, although I don't wear a suit that often at the moment. The material they use is Vegetan.
Tim: You should keep a separate blog about those shoes, then we'd be able to tell whether they're vfm.
Steve: I appear to be making a profit on that low-fi Brand X live album as I bought it for 8 and just sold it for £11.50. Must be hard to get then.
Have spent a few hours de-crackling the LP of Floating Music by Robert Schroder - it's a great album. Please don't tell me someone has the CD! If not, standby for a copy. I also have Mosaic and for you Nick, Time Actor. I did find an MP3 copy of Pegasus for about a dollar on the net but haven't downloaded it.

Tim: Ah yes, Brand X.
Last week I was going to have a quick look about that album. Found myself at Wikipedia, looking at this article, which was a bit perplexing. Don't remember those people...?
I wound up finding myself embroiled in some idiotic vandalism war, but I think it's all over now!
As for Bert Schroed, yes that would be good to hear.

Steve: Well done for sorting the mess out, I didn't recognise those people and some of the album titles. I wondered if it was a Brand X member as they used to put complete and utter on the sleeve notes; it could've been another little joke.
Who owns the page then?

Steve: Okay coming back to the cheap MP3 version of Pegasus. It's on a site called www.allofmp3.com where the prices seem to be a bit cheap. Is this reputable? Am I an idiot if I put my credit card number in there? It looks like it's a Russian site so a bit scary.
Steve: Hmm, I think I might go for this then at... EIGHTEEN CENTS!!!!! It can't be legal can it? I need to compare the quality of the LP remaster with the MP3 version. I have to admit that the LP CD has metallic treble, oh and endless clicks and graunches.
One problem, you have to again use a credit card and put on at least US$15. I'd never use it up!

Steve: Ah this outfit are Russian as well which means zero to the artist maybe. But since I already have the LP...
nick: Found a website where you can volunteer to read books aloud that are then put on the web for people to download
Steve, they've still got a load of chapters waiting to be claimed of one of your favourites at:
librivox.org

Steve: This is hilarious, you get each chapter read by a different person, in a different style. It would be a good laugh to do one with a west country accent or like Alan Partridge.
Went out for a run borrowing Matt's MP3 player and it makes it a lot less boring. But I really cannot get on with standard in-ear phones. They fall out so maybe I need to try the ones that have the over-ear holders.
Just deciding whether it's road bikes or off-road for next weekend. All down to whether Matt wants to ride, if not road for a non-muddy change. Get training Nick!
