Tim:  Not much moving news
but I said I'd keep you posted...
Mortgage applied for, so valuation will take place soon (I imagine that will be 1 minute's work). Just sent off the cheque for the L.A. Search.

Meanwhile our buyers came round the other day to take some measurements and it looks like they've got some serious plans in mind in the kitchen/bathroom department which is good news (i.e. they seem pretty committed).

That's about it for now.

Comments:
Blogger nick: make sure you get a repayment mortgage!

Blogger Tim: Absolutely. 10-year fixed rate, we've gone for, so we can sort of forget about it. Keeping the old endowment as a savings type thingmo, same as Steve.

Also, having unearthed our original documentation for the endowment I might put in a misselling claim (could be too late though?)

Blogger Steve: You should definitely give them as much hassle as possible. I don't think you are too late. You could go for a no-win-no-fee outfit. Andy up-the-road got several 1000 in 'we weren't to blame but have this cash anyway' compensation.

This year's bonus is all of £260 when I paid in about £800 premiums. But the terminal bonus is still over 50% so that's the thing to keep your eye on I suppose.

Getting new mortgages at our age is pretty depressing isn't it. Nick wouldn't know :-)

After looking at Paul's efforts on Sunday I really need to get a digital camera. But I can't face the huge and complicated selection process. He even did some micro films on my phone that are pretty impressive.

Blogger Tim: How much of a cut did the no-win bods take, any idea?

You're right, and the worst bit about getting a new mortgage now is deciding how many years 8-(
